About The Founder and Owner
Roberto I Melendez PhD
Dr. Melendez is an established neuroscience professor and biomedical researcher with over 20 years of experience studying the behavioral and molecular mechanisms associated with brain signaling, synaptic plasticity, and memory formation. He obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from Purdue University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Neuroscience under renowned professor Dr. Peter W. Kalivas at MUSC. Throughout his well-published academic career (see PubMed Central), Dr. Melendez received various research grants from the National Institutes of Health to establish the link between adolescent brain neurotransmission and excessive alcohol drinking. Dr. Melendez is a recently retired Tenured Professor of Neurobiology and Director of the Addiction Neuroscience Lab at the UPR School of Medicine. He's also served as Scientific Advisor for ASSMCA and as a Scientific Grant Reviewer for the NIH. He is now an entrepreneur bridging the gap between innovation education and neurotechnology.
